History

The only information on this project comes from Herman Laroche, writing the composer’s obituary notice in October 1893: "As well as an opera, he was planning another instrumental work, since two years ago he agreed to write a concerto for two pianos with orchestra for two of his friends" [1].

The identity of the two friends is not known, and there are no references to the project in the composer’s correspondence.
