When I was a young girl I was taken to the Royal Albert Hall. We
stood up in the Gods and listened to Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony. I knew
nothing about classical music and was spell-bound. Even then, in my
young innocence, I could feel under the light melancholy the undertones
of deep and troubled emotion and was truly captured by the magnificence
of his work.
Life took over and only until now in retirement have I allowed myself
to listen once again. Oh! why did I wait? I have just sung 'Deception op 65.2' I have
come home.
