Tchaikovsky on Beethoven

I know he wasn't "fond" of Wagner-- but what did T. think of Beethoven? Did he appreciate any German composers?

George Boyd

Actually you can now read more about Tchaikovsky's views on other composer in Luis Sundkvist's excellent new series of translations of the composer's music review articles, which he is preparing specially for readers of Tchaikovsky Research. They are full of fascinating insights—for example, Tchaikovsky's views on Fidelio (here). Articles TH 259 to 274 have already been translated, with more to follow.
