Tchaikovsky on Tristan und Isolde

Tchaikovsky made the trip to Bayreuth for Wagner's first ever "Ring Cycle" performances, so he must have admired him and "liked" his music on many levels too.

Tchaikovsky actually went to Bayreuth to report on the occasion for the Russian Register newspaper, as their special musical correspondent. You can read his opinions in our specially-translated version of the article he wrote about his visit: The Bayreuth Music Festival.
