Aleksandr Adlerberg
Count Aleksandr Vladimirovich Adlerberg (Александр
Владимирович Адлерберг) was a Russian army officer
and civil servant, born on 1/13 May 1818, the son of Count Vladimir Adlerberg and his wife Mariia (b. Nelidova).
After attaining the rank of Adjutant General in 1855, and Infantry General in
1869,he became a minister of the Russian Imperial Court from 1870 to 1881, where
he was a close adviser to Aleksandr II.
In 1886 he corresponded briefly with Tchaikovsky.
Aleksandr Adlerberg died on 22 September 1888 at Munich, Germany, aged 70.
