Émile Blavet

Émile Blavet was a French author and journalist, born In Courmonterral In L' hérault on 14 February 1838.

His most famous work was Au pays Malgache (1897), an account of a visit to Madagascar. He was a regular contributor to the newspapers Le Gaulois and Le Figaro, in which latter capacity he corresponded with Tchaikovsky in 1888.

Émile Blavet died in 1924, aged 82.
