Hugo Bock

Hugo Bock was a German music publisher, born in Berlin on 25 July 1848.

In 1871 Bock inherited the Berlin music publishing firm founded by his father Gustav Bock (1813-1863) and Eduard Bote. The firm of Bote & Bock published the score of Tchaikovsky's overture-fantasia Romeo and Juliet in 1872, at the instigation of Nikolai Rubinstein. Tchaikovsky was acquainted with Hugo Bock, and some correspondence between the two men has survived.

Hugo Bock died in Berlin on 12 March 1932.
