Sofiia Jurgenson
Sofiia Ivanovna Jurgenson (София Ивановна Юргенсон),
was a teacher, born in 1840 as Sofiia Ivanovna Sots (София
Ивановна Соц), later the wife of Tchaikovsky's publisher
Petr Jurgenson.
Sofiia assisted her husband in managing manage his publishing house, and
corresponded frequently with Tchaikovsky with regard to the publication of his
works, as well as family matters.
In 1884 Tchaikovsky dedicated his piano piece
Impromptu-caprice to Sofiia Jurgenson.
Sofiia Jurgenson died in 1911.
