Iuliian PoplavskiiRussian cellist and writer (b. 1871; d. 1958), born Iuliian Ignat'evich Poplavskii (Юлиян Игнатьевич Поплавский, Julijan Ignat'evič Poplavskij, Yulian Ignat'yevich Poplavsky). In the early 1890s Poplavsky studied the cello at the Moscow Conservatory under Alfred von Glenn. He was a guest at the composer's home shortly before his death in October 1893, and subsequently wrote an account of "Tchaikovsky's Last Days at Klin".
