Mikhail SofronovServant of the composer (b. 1848 in Klin; d. 1932), born Mikhail Ivanovich Sofronov (Михаил Иванович Софронов, Mihail Ivanovič Sofronov). Formerly a servant to Ferdinand Laub (a colleague of the composer's at the Moscow Conservatory), Mikhail Sofronov became Tchaikovsky's servant in 1871, later sharing these duties with his younger brother Aleksei (1859–1925). After Tchaikovsky's marriage in 1877, only Aleksei was kept on, and Mikhail left the composer's service. Correspondence with Mikhail Sofronov:
