Tallinn (Reval)

Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia, in the county of Harju (Harjuma). During Tchaikovsky's lifetime it was known as Reval or Revel (Ревель), or Reval, and was the capital of the Reval district (Ревельский уезд) in the Estonian province (Эстляндская губерния) of the Russian Empire.

Tchaikovsky visited Reval from 5/17 December–7/19 December 1891 to stay with his brother Anatolii, who was then deputy governor-general of the city.
